Following our thrilling semi-final victory on penalties last Tuesday, sponsored by Reece Hobbs, The Rustics are eager to secure their spot in the Isthmian South East Division One — STEP 4 football!

Punjab have arguably faced a tougher path to reach this point. Finishing fifth, they traveled to second-placed Fisher in the semi-final and, despite a close contest, they came out on top with a 3-1 win, extinguishing Fisher’s hopes.

Both teams arrive at the final in excellent form.

Rusthall has lost just once in their last 10 matches—a surprising 1-0 defeat at home to Stansfeld. During this run, they scored 21 goals and conceded only 4.

Punjab has a similar record, with just 2 losses in their last 10 games, scoring 19 goals and conceding 8.

This season, we’ve faced each other twice — Rusthall has a slight edge with one win and one draw.

Our September match at Punjab ended in a 1-1 draw, with Jack Kirby equalizing for us in the first half.

In November’s home fixture, the Rustics delivered an impressive 4-2 victory. Louie Clark, our Golden Boot winner, was in top form, netting a hat-trick, while Captain Robbie Bissett added another.

This final promises to be a tense, exciting clash between two well-run, well-supported teams. Expect contrasting playing styles — the question is, which style will come out on top?
