In excess of a whopping £2,800 was raised during our Rusthall Legends vs Arsenal Charity XI match last Sunday!

£2,800 will be split between our two chosen charities, Hospice in the Weald & The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust, as well as The Arsenal Foundation.

476 of you came out to support our Rusthall Legends and catch a glimpse of a selection of former gunners and their celebrity supporters as the 2-2 draw was played out at The Jockey Farm Stadium!

Our club president, Richard Smith had this to say: “Well, what can I say about the latest famous day in the long history of my beloved Rusthall Football Club. When I first came up with the idea of staging a charity match I could only dream that Arsenal would provide the opposition. Well yesterday that crazy dream came true thanks to the help of some amazing people. For me, the highlight of the day was seeing the faces of the mascots as the Arsenal lads took the time to pose for photo's with them and also sign their shirts. The squad of Rusthall legends put together by Martin Millins was like a who's who of Rusthall FC over the last 25 years and they certainly impressed the Arsenal manager. who expressed an interest in coming back next year. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special day, especially Pauline Hawkins and Paul Weston who worked non stop behind the bar. Nick Edmondson and Greg Dobson for their sterling work on the burger stand, Ben Martin and his wife Jackie in the tea hut. Claire Poole, Natalie Leigh and their helpers on the ice cream stall and also Ray and Josh Fermor for all their hard work collecting the money on the gate. Stuart Knight at Southborough Butchers and Ibrahim Shino at the Craft Cafe for supplying the players after match meal.
I am one very proud President of Rusthall FC, we must do this again, but make it bigger and better.“

Thank you to everyone that took the time to help, support and help make the day a success!

Our attention now turns to our First Team who start their league, FA Cup and FA Vase campaign on Saturday 3rd of August with a visit from Holmesdale FC for our opening Southern Counties East Football League game!
