D-Squad off to a positive start to the season.

The D-Squad got their season up and running last week away to Dartford Celtic Res. They returned with 3 points after a 1-3 victory. On what was a pretty awful pitch, which was not ideal for any fluid football to be played, we ground a result out. Jacob Gibson, Elliot Moon and Connor Knight with the goals.
This week we visited Larkfield & New Hythe res. Larkfield as a club have made great strides on and off the pitch over the last season, their 1st team are looking to get into the SCEFL League asap and the ambition is being mirrored off the pitch, with the ground looking in great shape.
So although a better surface this week, we still struggled to get any quality in our general play. Larkfields 4-3-3 formation was causing us some issues and they took the lead when a cross managed to evade Reiss in our goal. We persevered though and their keeper returned the favour when he fumbled the ball in his own net from an Elliot Moon cross. 1-1 half time.
I wasn't particularly happy with our first half performance, but the lads seemed buoyed that we were in the game still. The 2nd half was marginally better, but we never really had any sustained period of pressure. However, Elliot did manage to get another couple of goals from close range in the final 1/4 of the game, which allowed us some breathing space and secured the 3 points.
So 6 points from two away games, against teams who will take points off other teams in our league. We haven't played nowhere near are best, but we have some shown some grit and determination to get the points.
